Torch Down Roofing
Surface Preparation
The roof surface is thoroughly cleaned and prepared to ensure proper adhesion of the membrane.
Primer Application
A primer is applied to enhance the bond between the roofing membrane and the substrate.
Membrane Installation
Rolls of modified bitumen membrane are carefully unrolled and positioned on the roof surface.
Torching
A propane torch is used to heat the underside of the membrane, melting the asphalt and creating a secure bond to the substrate.
Overlapping and Sealing
The membrane layers are overlapped and sealed to create a continuous, watertight surface.
SBS Modified Bitumen
Styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) modified bitumen is known for its exceptional flexibility and low-temperature performance, making it ideal for regions with fluctuating temperatures.
APP Modified Bitumen
Atactic polypropylene (APP) modified bitumen offers excellent UV resistance and heat weldability, making it suitable for hot climates.
